Biography

Andrew Wiley Polk was born and raised in Elvins, Missouri, where he won his first talent show at the age of five. Andrew's father played acoustic guitar while Andrew sang "It Is No Secret". With his $15.00 first-place prize money, he purchased a "Lone Ranger" suit. (pictured on the left)

Until he joined his first band in 1967, Andrew sang anywhere and everywhere anyone would listen.

Andrew has over forty-four years of experience as a band member and as a solo artist. For over twenty years, he performed five nights a week in house bands in Southeast Missouri music establishments.

Andrew has recorded two albums and is working on his third. He has appeared on several albums by other Southeast Missouri artists as a writer, co-writer, background vocalist, acoustic guitarist, and percussionist. He has co-written several songs with some very talented writers, including: Tom Roed (Fredericktown, Missouri), Hank Beukema (Pomona, New York), Harrison Sweazea (Jefferson City, Missouri), Todd Anthony (Brentwood, California), Barbra Griffin (Lake City, Florida) and Brad Hammor (Eureka, Missouri). He has recorded at: Tom Roed's Oak Grove Studios in Fredericktown, Missouri - Sugar Creek Studios in Fenton, Missouri - and Masters Touch Studio in Park Hills, Missouri. For several years, Andrew was blessed to work as an assistant to one of his best friends, Tom Roed, owner/operator of Oak Grove Studios, assisting in many facets of the recording process, including setup, production, engineering, recording, mixdown, and mastering.

He has appeared onstage as an opening act for Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Bob Kuban and The In-Men, and many other local and regional artists. On March 20, 1982, Jersey's (a Bonne Terre, Missouri nightclub) inducted Andrew into "Jersey's Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame".

Az-Iz, and GLP.

From 2002 - 2005 Andrew was a soloist performing member of the Mid-America Gospel Music Association (MAGMA). In 2004 he was the most requested local artist on KNLP 89.7 FM (the Spirit of Potosi) Potosi, Missouri. Also, his original song "You're Never Alone" was the most requested song by a local artist.

He has perfomed at many venues including pubs, clubs, restaurants, private parties, churches, concerts, conventions, schools, festivals, telethons, county fairs, radio stations, tv stations, assisted living homes, senior citzen centers, nursing homes, hospitals, fund raisers and benefits.

Andrew is the sixth of six children born to Alvin and Maebell Polk. His five siblings include three brothers -- Terry (deceased), Richard (deceased), and Ardell, and two sisters -- Marlene and Paula.

Andrew has two sons (Zachry and Jacob), and five grandchildren (Ethan, Adriana, Camden, Roman, and Makiah). He lost his daughter (Erin) to an auto accident in August 2000. Zachry lives in Largo, Florida, and sings/plays guitar at manydifferent venues. Jacob is a Chef in the US Army and is stationed at Camp Carroll South Korea. However, he will be returning stateside in October 2011.

Andrew proudly served our country in the US Army, and is a disabled Vietnam veteran.

Andrew moved from Missouri in 2005 and married his lovely bride, Susanna, on St Pete Beach at The Don Cesar Beach Resort And Spa, in St Pete Beach, Florida. They happily reside in Lutz, Florida.

Andrew is available in the Tampa Bay Area for private parties, pool parties, birthday parties, house warming parties, weddings, wedding receptions, lounges, restaurants, pubs, decks, patios, open houses, assisted living homes, corporate events, church events, etc.
